Esquisse
NTD employs a unique approach to the programming and design of projects in which the
clients' leadership will become participants in the planning and design of the project. The process is called Esquisse™, from a French word meaning "to sketch or outline." NTD's Esquisse™ process is an intensive, on-site work session in which the client’s leadership and professionals work directly with the design team in programming, planning, and designing their project.
During the Esquisse™ process, the NTD project team sets-up on a site convenient for the client (usually within the client's current facility) where they create a "mini design studio" or Esquisse™ workroom. The clients and users, those who will use the proposed facility, are invited to work directly with the project team to identify issues and goals related to the project. They actively participate in the design process while realistically considering budget, schedule, and volume issues.
